As many of you know, I'll stop posting on The Core Mechanic on July 1st, since I'm going to be focusing all my efforts entirely on Nevermet Press. So, I've been giving a lot of thought to what my last post will be - and what I've come up with is a sort of an audio montage modeled somewhat like the NPR "This I believe" project. I think, if we can pull it off, it would make for a great last post.
So, I have less than two weeks to collect as many responses as I can. I'm looking for any one of the following, all of which should begin with the phrase "I am a gamer...":
- An .mp4 or similar audio file, edited however you want but under 15 - 20 seconds in length.
- Send me a link, or leave a link below in the comments, to your own blog or to the location of your audio file on the net somewhere.
- Write it out in the comments below and I'll have it read aloud by one of my Fey Minions. Please keep it less than 5 or 6 sentences.
- Tweet me @thecoremechanic with something short and readable using the hash tag #IAMAG
Once the project is done, I'll make the file available for download as part of my last blog post.

I am a gamer. I have more rule books on my shelf then I'll ever use. I plan my weekends around gaming possibilities. I have passed my love of gaming on to my kids
I'll have to think of something unwitty to say.
I am a gamer. I explore the darkest depths of my soul, and my GM's. I have stood for all that is good, and all I can carry. I solve puzzles with a sharp mind, and lucky dice. I play for the story.

@Steve -- first to take the plunge! THANK YOU!!!
@Bonemaster -- looking forward to it!
@Alensande -- Thanks for joining in.
@Anonymous -- Love the audio! and the clue as to who you are!
Please spread the word! Many people have already RT'd on Twitter; but I'm hoping for more audio or comments left here. This is going to be awesome!
I am a gamer. I see the world in statistics, icosahedra, and archetypes, and I am a better person for it. I am a modern shaman, invoking heroes and gods by taking on their roles. I want others to feel the joy of my pastime.
I am a gamer. My earliest memories include playing Donkey Kong and Mario Brothers (before they were super!) when I was barely old enough to form memories. Video games, board games, card games and role playing games have dominated my entire life. I am a gamer.
I am a gamer because there's no other hobby quite like it. It's challenging, enjoyable, and deeply satisfying, and has been the seed of many lifelong friendships.
I am a gamer only in the eyes of other people. I've always called myself a roleplayer, because I think it's the characters and stories that are neat, not the game itself.
I am a gamer. I share in a fantastic story with my friends as we save the world. My life is better because of my roleplaying experience.
I am a gamer. My testicals are D20's and my scroat a crown royal bag.
NIce one! I'll file that under "I am a gamer. I'm 40 years old and still in middle school." =P
I am a gamer... fuck school

Muahahahahaaa!
can I make an audio of that?
sighs... probably not...
I am a gamer who loves building and exploring new worlds, conquering stiff challenges, withstanding shock and horror, creating bonds to imaginary characters, and laughing with my friends.
I am a gamer and as such I create my own entertainment. I can and do speak and act against consumerism by my very hobby.
Due to technical difficulties mine's a .WAV file, but I'm sure someone can convert it.

I am a gamer because I know that part of who I am gives life to the characters I play.
I'm a gamer too! A long tail gamer. I get years of enjoyment and fun with my friends out of just a couple of bucks. Plus, gaming gives me the edge I'll need when the apocalypse comes - zombies, nuclear, alien invasion ... whatever.
And to prove it, I recorded this here: http://longtailgamer.com/sites/default/files/I%20am%20a%20Gamer.mp3

This is awesome!!! I'll be putting together the audio montage tonight; hopefully I'll get it done in time.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!
I am a gamer. In my world I can bend time and create adventures. Who wouldn't want to be able to do that? As a teenager I was amazed my younger brothers imagination and even to this day I strive to retain even an ounce of the creativity my own kids have in abundance. To be able to take people on a journey with only words and a few scribbled drawings is something I'll enjoy my entire life and with luck my kids will share that experience and carry on gaming long after I failed my last saving throw.
I wanted to record it but I'm struggling to get anything that doesn't have kids screaming in the background or the hens telling the world they've laid another egg!
